About the Conference-
Sustainable development necessitates a holistic approach from the ecology, economic, socio-cultural and institutional framework. Measuring growth on the basis of profit and production is now a concept of past, the stakeholders are also concerned about the impact on the Planet and People while generating profit. World over countries are unanimous on this pressing issue and working to turnaround the damage already taken place, which if not checked now, will prove to be disastrous.
The role and responsibilities of Government, Corporate (Public and Private), Academicians, R&D, Civil Society and individual citizens are vital to contribute towards holistic approach for sustainable development and ensuring that mother earth continues to bless the future generations with its natural and precious resources.
Looking at the importance of the theme, an International Conference is scheduled at IIFM to bring together researchers, academicians, practitioners and policy makers to present their research findings, new concepts and cases on practices adopted to face this global challenge.

About the Institute
The Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal (IIFM) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. For over 35 years it is dedicated to support specialized sectors like forestry management, environment, development by way of providing trained human resources and undertaking research and consultancy in this niche sector of Natural Resource Management. IIFM also focuses on the Sustainable Management Practices that should be adopted by public and private sector for achieving economic objectives in devising and implementing various functional strategies. In its endeavor to gain excellence to serve its stakeholders, it constantly strives to update and expand its focus to respond to the changing needs of all the concerned stakeholders. Situated on a hill and surrounded with water bodies on three sides, the Campus is one of the most beautiful educational campuses in the country designed by leading Architect.

Accommodation-
Accommodation can be availed at IIFM in Guest House on twin sharing/ single sharing basis (subject to prior request and availability) during the conference on payment in advance as per IIFM specified rate. The accommodation charges for IIFM Guest House would be Rs. 1250/- for single occupancy, Rs. 750/- per day for twin sharing and for students Rs. 600/- per day (double occupancy).
About Bhopal City-
Bhopal the city of lakes is the capital of Madhya Pradesh and is blessed with many lakes. Bhopal is among the greenest and cleanest cities of India. Apart from lakes, it offers variety of places of interest to tourists ranging from cultural center like Bharat Bhavan which has an art gallery& amphitheater, and a Tribal museum, Museum of Man (Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sanghralaya), Regional Science Center and a planetarium; Van Vihar National Park, which has many species of animals living in their natural habitat. Shaurya Smarak, a war memorial having a museum depicting heroes of our country i.e. the soldiers and martyrs. Places of worships like Birla Mandir, Manuabhan Tekri, Jama-Masjid, Moti Masjid etc. Bhopal has some of the best academic institutes and is considered as an educational hub. Nearby places Bhimbetaka caves (houses paints of Neolithic age), and Stupas in Sanchi, a World Heritage site are popular among visitors. The month of February offers a very pleasant weather to the residents and guests of Bhopal. The typical day temperature ranges from 14-280C.
